Resumé

Where and by whom was the chronicle. „De ordine predicatorum de Tolosa in Dacia“ written?
The article discusses the short Dominican chronicle usually called „De ordine predicatorum de Tolosa in Dacia“ (On the order of preachers from Toulouse in Dacia/Denmark) from 1261. Previous research suggests that it was written by Brother Daniel, the first Prior of the Dominican friary in Estonia (then under Danish rule). The present article shows this to be unlikely and argues instead that it is a Danish chronicle, most likely written at the Dominican friary in Lund by an anonymous Danish friar. This argument is supported by a textual analysis that indicates a Danish perspective, with a special emphasis on the view from the archepiscopal city of Lund. The author must have been present at the friary in Lund when he wrote the chronicle, and probably also attended the provincial conference held in Ribe in 1246.
