Mens Bibelen 2020 rummer mange eksempler på gode og rammende oversættelser af dele af Gammel Testamente, rummer den desværre også en lang række forskydninger og fejltolkninger. Beskrivelsen af Gud gøres almenreligiøst, Guds eget navn er stort set fraværende, GTs Gud ses nu som overhoved i et gudepantheon, og i bestræbelserne på at gøre teksten alment forståelig er der kommet en række fejltolkninger ind, som går på tværs af grundtekstens mening.
