Abstract

Artiklen analyserer oversættelsen af ordet Israel i Bibelen 2020 som en case for funktionel ækvivalens i bibeloversættelser. Den udvikler en metode for analyse af semantiske komponenter og tester analysen af på revisionen af Den Nye Aftale, Salmernes Bog og resten af Den Gamle Aftale. Artiklen argumenterer for, at udfordringen ikke er det kommunikative sigte, men i stedet oversætternes forskelligartede valg og en manglende redigering af Ny Testamente.

Artiklen bringes i den formulering, som den havde i slutningen af juni 2020 og den afspejler derfor ikke revisionen af Ny Testamente fra samme år.
