Alessandra Bruni Lopez y Royo, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London

(aka Alex B.) is a model and a writer. She is currently Research Associate of the Centre for Media Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, and a member of
All Walks Beyond the Catwalk, an initiative founded by Caryn Franklyn, Debra Bourne, and supermodel Erin O’Connor to change perceptions of beauty and body image in fashion and the media. Her blog is at http://alex-therealdoesnoteffaceitself.blogspot.co.uk. She was awarded a Research Fellowship
