Abstract

We left England on 5 January, 1959, spent ten days in the British Virgin Islands. All our major journeys were by air. Of the Anatidae only three species were seen--the Masked Duck Oxyura dominica (L.) in Panama, the Colombian Torrent Duck Merganetta armata colombiana Des Murs in Ecuador and the Galapagos Pintail Anas bahamensis galapagensis Ridgway.
