Call for sessions: THE CHANGING NATURE OF NORDIC WORKING LIFE NORDIC WORKING LIFE CONFERENCE (NWLC) 10-12 JUNE 2020

2019-05-21

The scientific committee welcomes proposals for thematic sessions to the 2020 Nordic Working Life Conference. The theme of the conference is the changing nature of Nordic working life, labour markets, industrial relations and employment relationships. Around the world, Nordic labour markets are acclaimed for strong economic performance, social security, high equality, collective bargaining, job quality and high social trust. However, changes in the nature of work and modern capitalism is challenging and transforming the Nordic labour markets. New technologies and digital work platforms change employment relationships and working conditions. Polarization and precarization of the labour market reduces income equality and social trust. Labour migration and new preferences challenges traditional collective bargaining systems. The conference address among other things the history, evolution and sustainability of the Nordic models, the similarities and differences between the Nordic countries, how current challenges are handled and working life is transforming in the Nordic countries. Session proposals must include a title, short description of the theme/subject of the session, the type of papers, contact information of the organisers and keywords (max 1 page). The deadline for proposals is May 1, 2019. The scientific committee will review the proposals and decisions are announced on June 1, 2019 (at the latest). In selecting sessions, the scientific committee will assess the relevance of the proposal to the theme of the conference and prioritise sessions with organisers from different Nordic countries. Please submit your proposal on the conference homepage: www.nwlc2020.aau.dk (Easychair). After announcement of the sessions, abstracts can be submitted within each of the thematic sessions.
