Scandinavian Political Studies, Bind 7 (1972)

Foreword

The present volume of Scandinavian Political Studies is the seventh in a series of yearbooks published by the Political Science Associations in the Nordic countries. It is the hope of the editors that it will, like its predecessors, serve the purpose of presenting to colleagues in other parts of the world the results of some of the research going on in our countries and that it will provide those specially interested with further information on Scandinavian research and politics.

The latter purpose is the aim of the bibliography, edited by Helen Aareskjold,
and the five review articles on recent political developments in the Scandinavian
countries.

The bulk of the volume consists, however, of articles on research done by both well-known and younger scholars on a variety of subjects, eleven of them written by Scandinavians, two by American colleagues well acquainted with certain aspects of Scandinavian politics.

The Political Science Associations in Scandinavia again wish to express their gratitude for necessary financial support from the Opetusministerio (Ministry of Education) in Finland, Norges Almenvitenskapelige Forskningsråd (the Norwegian Research Council for Science and the Humanities) in Norway, Statens Råd for Samhallsforskning (Social Science Research Council) in Sweden, and Ministeriet for kulturelle anliggender (Ministry of Cultural Affairs) and Rask-Ørsted Fondet (the Rask-Ørsted Foundation) in Denmark.
