Applications of human-animal interaction

Human-animal interaction may take many forms, including opportunities to improve human health and welfare by involving animals. Knowledge of animal-assisted therapy and other forms of animal-assisted intervention is relevant for psychologists, as are other ways in which animals affect human well-being. This article introduces terminology and good practice principles in animal-assisted interventions, summarises preliminary findings about public funding for animal-involving welfare activities in Denmark, and introduces the articles of the thematic issue.
