Resumé

Dette temanummer med titlen Det ræsonnerede katalog i et analogt og digitalt perspektiv udspringer af et forskningsmæssigt behov for at undersøge det ræsonnerede katalog, på fransk kaldet catalogue raisonné, og dets indbyggede kunsthistoriske begrebssystem faghistorisk og teknologisk. Det ræsonnerede katalog og de dertil udviklede arbejdsmetoder blev med afsæt i Ny Kunsthistories poststrukturalistiske tilgang op igennem 1980’erne og fremefter kritiseret for at være en alt for positivistisk forankret genre med en forældet praksis. Ifølge denne kritik havde genren først og fremmest betydning for den individuelle kunstners økonomi og produktion. Den bidrog til at opretholde en romantisk genidyrkelse. Fra det 21. århundrede opstod desuden en stigende skepsis over dominansen af mandlige vesteuropæiske billedkunstnere, som fik tildelt et ræsonneret katalog eller endda flere ræsonnerede kataloger.
