The alphabet employed is a b c ... u v w x y (ti) z å aa a (æ) 6 (ø). Finnish, German and Greenlandic names with aa are, however, alphabetized as with a double a. German a, 6 and ti are treated as Nordic a, 6 and y; i and j, v and w are separated. Icelandic o and p are treated as d and th. Other diacritic signs are not taken into consideration.
The cyrillic alphabet is transliterated according to the international system for the transliteration of Cyrillic characters [ISO].
- The Editors

https://tidsskrift.dk/naa/article/view/127469

In order to simplify the use of the index, the detail entries have been grouped under main entries as far as possible, for example Plough under Agriculture. In most cases reference is given from a detail entry to the main heading.
In the concise abstracts all important subjects cannot always be mentioned; consequently some entries in the index will not be found in the corresponding abstract but refer to the original publication.
General surveys and general catalogues are not mentioned in all relevant entries ( Graves, Weapons, etc.); they are to be found under SURVEYS and CATALOGUES.
- The Editors

The specific names of sites are listed for castles, churches, monasteries, towns, and well-known find localities. The name of the relevant country, district, or region according to the maps is always listed, except when the paper deals with a larger area. Regional names introduced later than 1974 are marked with * and are thus not used in all volumes of NAA. General surveys may be found under SURVEY in the Subject index.
Outside the Nordic area, the name of the country is listed, as are well-known find localities and sites.
A guide to the alphabetical arder is given in the Author index.
- The Editors
