The argument is that, since introduced to Brazil, liberal thinking articulates efficiently with conservativism in order to preserve the social status quo, taking action whenever social reforms seem possible, by indoctrinating decision and opinion makers through an amplified think tank network. The analysis demonstrates the existence of a proximity in ideas nourished discretely by a liberal dimension in conservative thinking (the rediscovered liberal tradition of medieval scholastics) and a religious dimension in liberal thinking, in Brazil inspired mainly by the Austrian School of Economics. This allows the promotion of a new and persuasive liberal-conservative utopianism, which veils both its utopian and eschatological character.</p> ER -
