There are many programming languages, but none is completely adequate for all kinds of problems. There are also many job control languages and intermediate languages for portable compilers.
Here we present the design of a Kernel language KL that can link routines, written in various programming languages, and replace both control and intermediate languages. The language KL is suitable for the casual user, who knows no other language, because it is both simple and powerful.
