Selected firmware development systems are investigated, with special emphasis on the environment in which the firmware is existing during testing and final installation. In particular the RIKKE/MATHILDA system is described. Development systems for user microprogrammable processors, as well as for dedicated control systems (custom-designed) are surveyed and classified. Particular problem areas are illustrated and discussed.Downloads
