The paper introduces both the interrupt concept and the related concepts of time consuming and instantaneous actions as developed in the DELTA Project within a truly parallel environment.
It then discusses how to understand the concepts in a quasiparallel environment such as the class SIMULATION where one can only approximate continuous change.
Different implementation strategies are examined and their efficiency discussed.
