Abstract

An introduction to the mysterious role of Fibonacci numbers in the botanical topic of phyllotaxis can be found in H. S. M. Coxeter: ''In troduction to geometry''. Here the underlying theory is developed further and embodied in a computer program for drawing Fibonacci fruits. The preprint reproduces several drawings of simulated fircones and pineapples.
