Abstract

ALICE is a very simple system consisting of an operating system and a programming language - both designed to be used in the education in computer science at a very low level. The publication describes how one might use ALICE in such an education. ALICE is implemented on GIER, but has not yet been used in a situation like the one described in the publication, which therefore only reflects the author's opinion on how one ought to educate in elementary computer science.
