Welcome to the Stockholm Criminology Symposium - June 13–15 2022
June 13–15 2022
The Stockholm Criminology Symposium is organized by The Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Brå) and has become a well-established annual international meeting-place for criminologists, policymakers and others with an interest in criminal policy. The three-day Symposium takes place in central Stockholm and features approximately 100 speakers who will present their research and share their experiences in over 40 sessions.
The main theme of the Symposium this year is
Understanding the mechanisms that cause crime and promote desistance from crime
By tradition the Stockholm Criminology Symposium also presents a large number of panels under the general theme
Contemporary Criminology
which provide an overview of the current state of knowledge.
The symposium is organized in conjunction with the award ceremony of the Stockholm Prize in Criminology. The prize ceremony will honor the 2021 prize winner, Elijah Anderson, Yale University, USA, and the 2022 prize winners Peggy Giordano, Bowling Green State University, USA and Francis T. Cullen, University of Cincinnati, USA. The prize ceremony takes place in the Stockholm City hall in the evening of June 14.
The last day to register is May 18. The cost for delegates is 2 900 SEK. Tickets for the award ceremony and dinner cost 1 000 SEK.
